Cookies
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by your browser when you use our website. These text files contain information that is used to provide user-friendly services and is read by web browsers. Cookies enable our website to recognize you so that our web server can present you with a website that is better, faster, more individual and better tailored to your needs.
Please note that you may be unable to access certain web content if you block cookies.
A distinction is made between the following basic types of cookies:
- Session cookies: There are stored on your computer or device while you browse our website and are deleted afterwards.
- Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on your computer for a longer period.
- Cookies from third-party providers: These cookies are created by partner websites and embedded in our website. They are used, for example, to show personalized advertisements.
2. How we use cookies
We only use internet technologies (e.g. cookies, JavaScript) to make it easier for you to use our website and to optimize our services and your communication with our content:
- We use session cookies to keep the current session active.
- We use cookies for data analysis. This enables us to identify, for instance, how our forms are used, how many people visit our website, and which of the pages are visited the most frequently.
- We use cookies from third-party providers to improve your experience of our content and advertisements.
This website also uses Google web analysis services.
For further information on this topic as well as general information on data protection, please refer to the section Data protection.
3. Cookies from third-party providers
Some third parties place cookies on your computer, in particular for the purpose of recording user behavior and for personalizing offers (including advertisements). Depending on the platform, multiple third-party cookies may be set. You can find out how third parties use cookies by visiting the corresponding pages of their networks. Information on these networks can be found in the table below. We have no control over the cookies from third-party providers. We therefore recommend that you check the websites of the respective third-party providers to determine how cookies are used and how they can be managed. For common third-party providers such as Facebook, Google and many others, the “Digital Advertising Alliance” offers a general opt-out for all DAA companies. You can find more information on this under sections 4 and 5.
