Product benefits

We put our products through their paces.
Hawle has more than 150 product certificates and around 300 material licenses in various countries. In order to ensure the quality of its products, the Hawle testing department subjects the raw materials to extensive tests – starting as early as the development stage – and monitors selected production steps by making spot checks. Destructive and non-destructive testing procedures are used to test finished products. Experienced and specially trained employees conduct these tests in accordance with extensive test plans. They document the results, initiating the necessary corrective and preventive measures for development, procurement and production processes where needed. Hawle also conducts long-term tests.
Hawle quality guarantee
Our products are used in water infrastructure, which is why we hold our products to the highest standards of quality and longevity. Our goal is to ensure that our customers – the people responsible for the water supply – are happy. For this reason, Hawle guarantees that its products will work perfectly for many years. Duplex stainless steel spindle
“Standards exist to be exceeded.”
Throughout the industry, an alloy containing 13% chromium is used for corrosion protection in stainless materials. This means that universal materials, such as St 1.4021, are generally used in spindles. Unfortunately, this is not always enough to prevent corrosion damage. When it comes to quality, we make no compromises and do our best to go above and beyond the standards in order to guarantee that our products have a significantly longer service life. For this reason, Hawle works with a significantly higher-quality duplex material alloy (St 1.4162) with a chromium content of 21.5% as standard.

Ease of assembly
“Make things easier where it’s needed – in the pipe trenches”
Many Hawle products boast easy assembly that saves time and costs, and are specifically designed to overcome all the challenges faced in the pipe trenches.
System 2000:
A connection between a System 2000 socket and a PE pipe can be created without the need for specialized tools or specialist personnel. Pipe connections with System 2000 can be set up quickly and easily, even in unfavorable weather conditions such as humidity and high or low temperatures. No specialist knowledge or tools are required. Simply chamfer and lubricate the pipe, push it on and tighten the bolts.
E2/E3 extension spindle:
In the case of E2/E3 extension spindles up to DN 200, the protection pipe of the extension spindle is firmly connected to the valve bonnet by pressing down the fixing ring. The spindle socket on the extension spindle rod is fixed in the protection pipe, eliminating the need for additional bolts or pins.
ZAK system:
Pushing the ZAK spigot into the ZAK socket and twisting through 90° engages the locking device. The connection is then permanently secured by pushing on the fixing ring and the pipeline is created such that it is sealed up to 16 bar.
Drilling under pressure
“Saves time and money”
The Hawle HAKU and UNI pipe saddles make it possible to connect an outlet pipe with a diameter of up to DN150 without shutting off the main line. Thanks to auxiliary barriers configured according to the specific application and the associated drilling machines, a wide range of Hawle products can be used to create pipelines under pressure – in areas ranging from small service connections right through to large pipe diameters of up to DN600. In this way, pipes made of all manner of materials can be drilled safely and reliably under pressure and the potable water supply is maintained at all times without any restrictions.
Easy-operation valves
“Simple handling – when Hawle takes care of the details...”
If a valve has to be actuated with high forces, it struggles to move into its final position and the thread of the wedge nut can become overloaded. It is therefore vital that a gate valve remains easy to operate throughout its service life.
Wedge guides:
Our wedge guides are made of wear-resistant, low-friction POM and help to ensure that our valves can be actuated easily with minimal force. The sealing rubber wedge only comes into contact with the coated valve housing shortly before the sealing procedure. This also protects the rubber wedge against wear and tear.
Rolled spindle thread:
All our valve, hydrant and service valve spindles have a flat-rolled thread. This process compacts the surface, giving the thread a very smooth profile which minimizes the wear and tear on the wedge nut. The spindle is also flat-rolled in the region of the spindle sealing in order to guarantee optimum sealing that is largely free of wear and tear.
Ball-type spindle bearings:
In our E2/E3 valves from DN250 upwards, stainless steel ball bearings are installed in the bonnet. The spindle rests on these ball bearings, enabling it to run as though it were on rollers during operation and keeping the force required to a minimum. As a result, smaller and more cost-effective electric actuators can also be used with our valves in some cases.
All the benefits of E3 valves at a glance
Robust design
Products for generations
In the pipeline construction industry, materials and connections are constantly being improved in order to respond to ever higher demands (such as working pressure and road loads). Hawle products have evolved over generations to meet these demands perfectly.
E2/E3 valves:
In order to meet the increasingly high demands being placed on product strength (higher pressure, resistance to pressure surges), we design our valves to have an increased cast wall thickness and add additional reinforcing ribs to the housing in the case of parts with large dimensions. Our wedge nuts have multiple threads, which minimizes the wear and increases the service life.
ISO fittings:
High-quality material and a sophisticated design mean that a Hawle fitting withstands the required pressure of 16 bar even after decades. In order to pass muster at Hawle, a brand new fitting from the factor must be able to withstand pressures of up to 130 bar.
Reliable connections
“100% leak-tight and sturdy – Hawle has the most reliable solution.”
Every connection in a pipeline must be completely leak-tight and usually has to have high tensile strength too. We have the perfect solutions to meet these needs.
PE pipe ends with valves:
The solid thread of the injection-molded PE pipe end is twisted into the counter-thread of the coated valve housing free of tension and stress. A lip seal and an O-ring provide twice the security and a permanently leak-tight connection. On the inside, a stainless steel support liner holds up the PE pipe end.
ZAK system:
The double O-ring sealing ensures long-term reliability and tightness up to a maximum working pressure of 16 bar.
System 2000:
A fine-toothed, brass grip ring which is pressed onto the PE or PVC pipe over a large area ensures a secure, permanent restraint connection. The functionality of the pipe is not affected by this gearing pressing into the surface.
ISO fitting:
The extensively developed ISO fitting grip ring creates a permanent connection with the PE pipe over a large area. Together with the gasket, it is pressed permanently and reliably against the pipe by the special construction of the ISO chamber.
Hawle Combiflex:
The combination of middle section, individual valves and connection frame has been tested according to the strictest Norwegian standards and can withstand enormous forces.
