Accra City
The ‘Accra City’ project in Ghana involved replacing valves and actuators at four pumping stations (Kpong, Accra Booster, Tema Booster and Weija) and renewing transport pipelines.
In December 2016, E. Hawle Armaturenwerke GmbH was given the task of revitalizing valves in the city of Accra. The water supplier Ghana Water Company Ltd. (GWCL) is responsible for supplying drinking water in all of Ghana’s cities.
In order to provide the customer with the best possible solution, Hawle staff inspected the valves that were due for replacement and explained which fittings would be needed. This saved the customer significant extra costs, as the products it had specified itself turned out to be far from the ideal solution. The main focus of the project was butterfly valves with Auma actuators.
At the final meeting, the former manager of GWCL Fred Lokko expressed his heartfelt thanks to Hawle and reiterated why GWCL had chosen to work with us:
- The presence of a strong partner in Ghana (Razie Keysac Enterprise),
- Product quality,
- Sustainability of Hawle products
- and the international sales and service customer support offered by the specialists from Austria.
Products used:
- Gate valves DN150 - DN1000, PN16 - PN40
- Control valves
- Auma drives
- Nova Siria flange
