Data protection notice last updated: 10.2022
Data protection officer
The data protection officer for the processing of your personal data on our website is the company Hawle Beteiligungsgesellschaft m.b.H. Your can find our details under Corporate details.
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and process it in accordance with the data protection laws and this privacy policy. Your data will not be sent to other recipients without your explicit consent.
Collection, processing and use of personal data
Access data/server log files
We automatically collect and store information that your browser sends to us. This information includes
- the browser type/version,
- the operating system used,
- referrer URL (the webpage visited previously),
- the host name of the computer accessing the site (IP address),
- the time of the server request,
- the data quantity transmitted, and
- the message stating whether the page call-up was successful.
Once they have finished being used, the IP addresses of users are deleted or anonymized. Anonymization involves modifying the IP addresses in such a way that details of personal or material circumstances can no longer or only with disproportionate investment of time, cost and labor be attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person. We analyze the data in the log files in anonymized form in order to improve the website and make it more user-friendly, and to enable us to find and eliminate errors more quickly. This data is also used for the purpose of managing the server capacity in order to enable us to provide suitable data volumes where required.
Contact form
If you contact us via the form on the website or via email, we will save your details for 6 months for the purpose of processing your request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
Newsletter
You can choose to subscribe to an email newsletter via our website. To do this, we require your email address and your declaration that you consent to receiving the newsletter. In order to provide you with targeted information, we also collect and process data that is provided voluntarily.
When you sign up for the newsletter, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to confirm your registration.
You are entitled to revoke your consent at any time by informing us in writing or (in the case of the email newsletter) by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link, without this affecting the legality of the data processing that took place on the basis of the consent up until this consent was revoked.
Job vacancies and online applications
We list job vacancies on our website as well as providing an option to submit an application to us online (via email or via the contact form). If you apply for an advertised position, your data will only be collected and processed by us within the scope of the application process and will be deleted by us once the vacancy has been filled unless legal regulations stipulate a longer storage period.
You will give your express permission for a longer storage period in the event that there is another vacancy to be filled at a later date, or we will conclude an employment contract with you, in which case we will store the data in accordance with the legal data protection provisions in your personnel file and for the purpose of managing payroll accounting.

Google Ads
As an AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer (“conversion cookie”) if you visit our website from a Google advert. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. If you visit certain webpages offered by us and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can identify that someone has clicked on the advert and was directed to our website. Each AdWords customer is given a different cookie. Therefore, cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of different AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have chosen to use conversion tracking. The AdWords customer is told the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and have been directed to a website with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that could reveal users’ personal identity. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can reject the use of cookies that is required for this, for instance by configuring your browser to disable all cookies. You can also deactivate conversion tracking cookies by configuring your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com”.
Google Remarketing
Our website uses retargeting technology provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).
This enables us to show personalized, interest-based advertisements to visitors on our website. Targeted adverts are displayed on the basis of cookie-based analysis of previous Internet usage and surfing behavior. To our knowledge, no personal data is saved in this process. A cookie is saved in order to collect anonymized data on the user’s interests and to tailor advertisements on the basis of this information. These cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device.
You can permanently reject the use of cookies for retargeting purposes by deactivating personalized adverts through Google here: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.
Further information and Google’s data protection regulations can be found in the Google Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
YouTube
JavaScript code from YouTube (LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA; "YouTube") is loaded on our website. We use YouTube to embed videos on our webpages. If JavaScript is activated in your browser and you do not have a JavaScript blocker installed, your browser may send personal data to YouTube. We do not know what data YouTube links with the data it receives and for what purposes YouTube uses this data. You can find more information in the YouTube Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). To prevent YouTube from using JavaScript code on your computer, you can install a JavaScript blocker (e.g. www.noscript.net or www.ghostery.com).
Vimeo
We use the provider Vimeo, among others, to embed videos (LLC with headquarters at 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011). We use Vimeo plugins on some of our webpages. When you visit a page on our website that has one of these plugins, a connection is established with the Vimeo servers and the plugin is displayed. The details of which of our webpages you have visited are sent to the Vimeo server. If you are logged in to your Vimeo account, Vimeo will link this information with your personal user account. When this plugin is used, e.g. when the ‘Play’ button of a video is clicked, this information is also linked with your user account. You can prevent this from happening by logging out of your Vimeo account before visiting our website and deleting the cookies set by Vimeo.
Further information on how Vimeo processes and protects data can be found at https://vimeo.com/privacy.

You can find the Terms of Service for Google Maps here: https://www.google.com/intl/en_gb/help/terms_maps/.
LeadFeeder
We use the LeadFeeder service as a tool for lead generation. LeadFeeder accesses the list of IP addresses of website visitors provided by Google Analytics for evaluation purposes and links the list of IP addresses with information about the companies that can be found on the Internet under these IP addresses. Due to the shortening of the IP address of the website visitors, which is already carried out when using Google Analytics, no direct association with individuals is established.
