"What a year!"

This is what many people probably think when they look back on this challenging year 2020. A year that was marked by the corona virus and presented us with completely new challenges. Now more than ever it is important to look ahead, look positively into the future and show cohesion.

In doing so, we should not forget those people in our society who, regardless of the Corona crisis, especially need our support. As a family business, it is very important to us to support projects that bring a smile to the faces of people in difficult life situations.

Therefore, we are pleased to support the following partners this year:

"Licht ins Dunkel" - Platinum Partner

"Licht ins Dunkel" is the largest charitable initiative in Austria. Every year it supports around 400 social and disabled projects throughout Austria and helps more than 16,000 children and their families. The association is charitable and not profit-oriented.

The focus of its support is on physically and intellectually impaired people and psycho-socially disadvantaged children. In addition, individual support for families with children or for people who were born with a disability is handled by the "Licht ins Dunkel-Soforthilfefonds" (Emergency Aid Fund). In the fiscal year 2019/2020, the initiative was able to support 5,243 families, 13,800 children and around 400 social and disabled projects through this emergency aid fund.

With the donation of 10,000 Euros, we are a platinum partner this year. More information about "Licht ins Dunkel" and the projects can be found at: www.lichtinsdunkel.orf.at

Viva con Agua - Existing partnership

A further donation of 10,000 Euros was made to the initiative "Viva con Agua Österreich" (VcA), with which we have been working since last year.

VcA is committed to the supply of drinking water in developing countries. The initiative supports sustainable water projects of the "Welthungerhilfe", which gives people in many different countries access to drinking water, sanitary facilities, and hygiene equipment.

Since 2013, Viva con Agua Austria has been financing WASH projects at primary and secondary schools in Malawi (WASH stands for water, sanitation and hygiene), which were particularly important this year.

Due to the corona virus, employees of the "Welthungerhilfe" were regularly at the schools supported by VcA Austria this year. There they did important work in education and prevention of Covid-19.

Another project was the finalization of large hand washing facilities at the Chiwaka and Kamtedza School in the district of Dedza. VcA Austria financed the sanitary infrastructure there. The new facilities enable the students to wash their hands together in a playful way. This supports a positive change in behaviour, which is carried by the students into their families and results in a significant reduction of infectious diseases.
