Hawle System 2000 in UK

In February 2018, R2M was asked to assist with a new installation. A MOPVC pipe of 110mm should be installed. In the past, two flange adaptors, a flanged bend and lots of bolts were used. Since Hawle's System 2000 has not been used before, R2M first proved its reliability on a test rig. Therefore, two System 2000 Flange Adaptors with one blank flange and one flange with a 1/2" outlet were fitted on a MOPVC pipe. The test rig was filled with water, vented of all air and with the test pump pressurised to 16 bar, then it was left like this for one hour. During this time, the fittings didn't move nor were any leaks identified, hence the test was passed successfully.

After that, the real installation was completed and the new 110mm MOPVC pipe (approx. 150m) was put in place. After having installed all pipes and fittings, a pressure test was conducted. The water main held pressure with no water loss and thereby the pressure test was completed successfully.

With using the System 2000 90° Bend, a reduction in parts, labour and logistics was achieved which in the end also reduced cost. Normally, a flanged bend, two restraint flange adaptors and many bolts, nuts and gaskets would have been needed. With only one product to use, it made the installation easier and much faster. After the first installation, many more were made with Hawle's System 2000 and other customers are following this direction.
